About This Event
Beauty and the Beast is a touring stage musical adaptation of Disney’s animated film, featuring songs by Alan Menken with lyrics by Howard Ashman (and Tim Rice) and a book by Linda Woolverton. The production brings lavish sets, costumes and family-oriented spectacle to the Keller Auditorium in downtown Portland, presenting the familiar story of Belle, the Beast, and enchanted castle inhabitants in a full-scale theatrical staging. This touring version is notable for translating the film’s iconic songs and visuals into a live Broadway-style musical accessible to regional audiences.
